I'm having more trouble than I should, writing these journal entries because my summer has kinda been just SAT, and I don't really have much planned for the rest of summer either. I think I'll just do a news story for every entry to fill in the space. So recently the Supreme Court just ruled in favor of gay rights on two cases: http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2013/06/26/supreme-court/?iref=allsearch . Personally, I don't like to take either side in this ongoing debate, because it could lead to unnecessary arguments. I mean, does it really matter that much if gays get the right to marry or not? "Marriage" is just like a title anyways right, if same gendered couples want to show that they love each other why not let them express it? Is it really so bad to love someone of the same gender? On the other hand though, for the gays who fight so hard for marriage rights, is it worth making such a big deal over? If you're gay you probably aren't the most Catholic person in the world, so the institution of marriage should not be the most sacred thing in the world for you. Marriage is just a title and not being able to marry doesn't stop you from loving each other. It's just like how only an American born citizen can become president, it sucks if you're not born in America but you have the qualities to become a good president. Anyways, that's just my take on gay marriage: bigger deal than it needs to be.
